Fullbright-Nehru Senior Scholar Dr. John Tharakan presented a paper on "Incorporating Ethics into Introductory and Senior Level Chemical Engineering Courses" at the 6th Annual International Conference on Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Chemical Process (CCECP), March 12-13, 2018. Dr. Tharakan's paper will be published in the peer-reviewed CCECP 2018 Conference Proceedings.
Dr. John Tharakan delivered an invited special presentation at the 4th International Engineering and Technology Education Conference (IETEC'17) in Hanoi, Vietnam, December 4-8, 2017. Dr. Tharakan’s paper, "Service Learning in Graduate Environmental Engineering - Fieldwork Empowering Communities," is being published in the peer-reviewed IETEC 2017 Conference Proceedings.
Dr. Ymele-Leki was invited to give a seminar, Microbial Biofilms: Analysis, Control, and Applications, at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory Center for Biomolecular Science and Engineering (CBMSE) on November 16, 2017.
Dr. Ramesh Chawla chaired/co-chaired four sessions at the 2017 AIChE Annual Meeting (17AlChE), October 29 to November 3, 2017 in Minneapolis, MN.
Dr. Solmaz Tabtabaei presented her research results “Sustainable Fractionation of Plant-derived Proteins with Pneumatic Tribo-electrostatic Separation” at 17AIChE.
Dr. Tao Wei also chaired a session: “Dynamics and Modeling of Particles, Crystals and Agglomerate Formation” and his group gave two presentations at 17AIChE: "A Non-Equilibrium Molecular Dynamics (NEMD) Simulation of the Crosslinked Polyamide Membrane in Water Desalination" and “Polyacid-Functionalized Gold Nanoparticles As an Amyloid-β Inhibitor Platform”.
Chemical Engineering Junior Jamaka Thomas won second place in the Food, Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology category at the 2018 Annual AIChE Meeting for her research submission titled: “Enrichment of Oat Protein by Means of Gravity and Electrostatic Forces.” Thomas co-authored her submission with Chemical Engineering Graduate Student Dinara Konakbayeva.Read More >>
